CMOS Amplifiers; CMOS amplifiers
CMOS amplifiers (complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor amplifiers) are ubiquitous analog circuits used in computers, audio systems, smartphones, cameras, telecommunication systems, biomedical circuits, and many other systems. Their performance impacts the overall specifications of the systems.
RF CMOS
  • [[Asad Ali Abidi]] developed RF CMOS technology at [[UCLA]] during the late 1980s to early 1990s.
TECHNOLOGY
RF CMOS or CMOS RF
RF CMOS is a metal–oxide–semiconductor (MOS) integrated circuit (IC) technology that integrates radio-frequency (RF), analog and digital electronics on a mixed-signal CMOS (complementary MOS) RF circuit chip. It is widely used in modern wireless telecommunications, such as cellular networks, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS receivers, broadcasting, vehicular communication systems, and the radio transceivers in all modern mobile phones and wireless networking devices.
Active-pixel sensor
  • A two-transistor active/passive pixel sensor
  • Blooming in a CCD image
  • Distortion caused by a rolling shutter. The two blades should form the same straight line, which is far from the case with the near blade. The exaggerated effect is due to the optical position of the near blade becoming lower in the frame concurrent to progressive frame readout.
IMAGE SENSOR CONSISTING OF AN INTEGRATED CIRCUIT
Active Pixel Sensor; CMOS sensor; CMOS Sensor; CMOS image sensor; CMOS camera; CMOS imager; Cmos sensor; CMOS APS; Active pixel sensor; Passive-pixel sensor; HV-CMOS
An active-pixel sensor (APS) is an image sensor where each pixel sensor unit cell has a photodetector (typically a pinned photodiode) and one or more active transistors. In a metal–oxide–semiconductor (MOS) active-pixel sensor, MOS field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) are used as amplifiers.

Nonvolatile BIOS memory

Nonvolatile BIOS memory refers to a small memory on PC motherboards that is used to store BIOS settings. It is traditionally called CMOS RAM because it uses a volatile, low-power complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) SRAM (such as the Motorola MC146818 or similar) powered by a small "CMOS" battery when system and standby power is off. It is referred to as non-volatile memory or NVRAM because, after the system loses power, it does retain state by virtue of the CMOS battery. The typical NVRAM capacity is 256 bytes.

The CMOS RAM and the real-time clock have been integrated as a part of the southbridge chipset and it may not be a standalone chip on modern motherboards. In turn, the southbridge have been integrated into a single Platform Controller Hub.

Today's UEFI motherboards use NVRAM to store configuration data (NVRAM is a part of the UEFI flash ROM), but by many OEMs' design, the UEFI settings are still lost if the CMOS battery fails.
